The rest of this day was cutting this giant down to shipping sizes.

The other pieces cut up earlier today are being loaded into the trailer parked at the curb.

The stump grinding process begins and a mountain of sawdust or mulch begins to pile up.

I took this photo at 3:55 PM while they were taking a break.

When I came out after 5:30 PM, everyone was gone.  This is where there were some surface roots I discussed with Chris Jenkins.  I had told him the lawn guy could not mow in this area since the roots were above ground level.  He took care of the problem.  Chris Rose is the lawn guy who mows the grass here every other week.   He came the next day and I showed him this spot as he was mowing.

That brings us back to the oversized pile of mulch from the stump grinding.   It is 20 feet wide and 25 feet from south to north as seen below.

The last big piece of the tree trunk has been on the neighbor's side of the property line since Tuesday afternoon.  It is Thursday night as I post this page.

The stump grinder threw out a lot of sawdust as you can see it piled up at the glass windows of the Florida Room.  I will get my leaf blower to get this stuff in one pile to put it where it can be useful.

That pile of mulch should not be that big.  There is still work to be done here to move it somewhere it will be useful, not killing the large area of grass that got buried around the tree location.  There is only one inch of mulch over the location where the tree trunk is located at the highest part of the mound.   That means they were running out of time and did not grind the stump down to true ground level, OR there is a piece of wood there not part of the tree trunk.
