Kitchen Appliance Issues · · PAGE 28.

August 30, 2016: I have been putting off the repair to the oven door too long.  The pair of door springs that keep it closed have been weak for quite a while.  Here is the way the oven door looked on August 23, 2013 when we signed the lease.

When the springs lost their strength, a bungee cord eased the problem when we would use the oven.

Now is the time to get this problem fixed as you can see in this picture taken on August 30, 2016.

The other issue in the kitchen is a leak inside the freezer in the ice maker.  I have been watching it refill the ice tray when it makes a new tray of ice and see nothing happening.  When I come back later, I see where the water has dripped into the ice bin and will freeze a number of cubes together.  If the ice builds up to the bottom of the ice maker unit, it can be hard to get the ice "glob" out of the bin.

The ice glob from above looks like this in the sink.  This is the "front" view as seen above after I dug out the cubes you see here frozen to each other.

This is the side view with the straight "back side" seen on the left.  If the glob gets to big, the auger at the bottom of the ice bucket cannot deliver any ice cubes through the door.

This image shows the other side of the ice.

With the ice jam removed, the ice cubes flow freely again.

October 24, 2016:  One more problem with old circuit breakers has been resolved.  The old circuit breaker in the left side of this photo with new Square D replacement breaker.  The old black circuit breaker would cause the lights in the northeast bedroom to flicker every time the air conditioner compressor would engage.  The new white ground fault interrupter outlet is ready to be installed on the kitchen counter next to the refrigerator.  This is a special circuit breaker used in bathroom and kitchen areas.
