April 7, 2007:  Here is a good look at the first of the front center baffles to be installed.  It has not been trimmed across the top at this point.

There is still another front baffle plate to be installed.

April 8, 2007:  I went to Wendell's shop on Sunday afternoon and helped him with the other front center baffle.  It has also been riveted to the other front baffle "ramp" in front of the number 2 cylinder.   Wendell had fabricated a brace to support both of the front center baffle plates in a vertical position.  Sorry, I did not take a photo of the second baffle plate installed or the new brace that is bolted to the engine crank case.  He has also begun to trim the front side baffles to clear the fiberglass ramps clecoed inside the upper cowl air inlets.

April 13, 2007:   Wendell asked me stop by on Friday afternoon to check on his work from the past week when I was out of town on business.  You can see that the front side baffles have been trimmed to match the upper cowl inlet ramps.  You can see the oil cooler baffle plate is removed to be worked on the bench.

Both LEFT side panels are now trimmed to the same height where they overlap properly.

April 14, 2007:  I went back for our usual Saturday afternoon session.  You can see where Wendell had the oil cooler mounting frame clecoed in place upside-down when he was trimming the corner of the rear baffle plate to clear the upper cowl.  I pointed out the problem, then had the other corner trimmed to shape.  The small unibit made nice clean holes in the corners of the area to be removed to clear the oil cooler radiator core.  The other rear baffle plate was also aligned with the oil cooler plate to match-drill the rivet holes that will join them together.  I made sure Wendell understood how to remove all three baffle plates as a unit while they were still clecoed together.

The other rear baffle plate has also been aligned and match-drilled to the RIGHT rear side baffle and will be riveted together when the priming is completed in a future session.  Wendell is getting ready for a trip to Sun-N-Fun with his Cessna 182.  It is for sale and will be displayed at Sun-N-Fun if you are interested.

April 22, 2007:   Wendell has been distracted from working on the airplane this week due to family issues.  He did not get to go to Sun-N-Fun in Lakeland this year.  I went over on Sunday afternoon to help out as usual.  I discovered that my digital camera is having new problems.  I get the idea it is time to buy a new one.  All that green stuff in this photo should not be there except for the piece of the cooling baffle being riveted together.  It is covered with green primer, but it is not that color of green.  And Wendell is definitely not "green around the gills" as shown in this photo.  He did not go wild with the paint sprayer on the walls - - my ailing digital camera did all that stuff.
